H&M Malaysia (old clothes)
H&M Malaysia has a Garment Collecting program that collects unwanted clothes and textiles. In 2020, the program collected 18,800 tonnes of unwanted clothes and textiles. You can participate in this program by taking any unwanted clothes or textiles, by any brand and in any condition, to one of their stores. You will receive a thank-you voucher to use towards your next purchase.
Kechara Soup Kitchen (money, food)
The Kechara Soup Kitchen is another charitable organization that provides food, essential medical services, and welfare assistance to the homeless and the urban poor, regardless of race and creed. The organization collects surplus food from hypermarkets, wet markets, hotels, bakeries, and gives it to the urban poor and other charitable organizations instead of landing it in the dumps. You can contribute to the organization by donating cash or food. Cash donations can be made to Kechara Soup Kitchen Society’s Maybank account number 5122-3133-4874. Donations of RM50 and above are tax-exempt under Section 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967.

Locks Of Hope Association (hair)
Locks of Hope Association is another charitable organization that helps cancer patients cope with hair loss. The organization’s Locks of Hope Hair Donation Campaign provides a platform for Malaysians to donate their hair to be turned into wigs for cancer patients who are going through chemotherapy. Hair donors need to have hair that is at least 6 inches long, and perms, dyes, and rebonding are accepted after six months. You can donate your hair at any salon or courier it to the organization using a courier service.
